UC1: Demonstrating Comprehensive CyberHealth Security for Digital Healthcare

The integration of technology into healthcare has ushered in breakthroughs in medical devices and AI, optimizing treatments and monitoring. However, this digital shift brings concerns about the susceptibility of interconnected devices to cyberattacks, jeopardizing patient safety and healthcare system integrity. These challenges arise from design flaws and inadequate security measures in devices. Modern healthcare is strained by potential cyberattacks, impacting patient care and exposing the inadequacies of current security solutions. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, there’s been a notable surge in cyberattacks on health facilities. Risks like dataset poisoning and data extraction from AI medical devices stress the need for enhanced cybersecurity. Motivated by the sensitive nature of healthcare data, there’s a pressing demand for robust cybersecurity, further emphasized by regulations like HIPAA. Upholding patient trust and ensuring uninterrupted service is crucial. Yet, implementing comprehensive cybersecurity in healthcare is challenging due to financial constraints, mixed IT infrastructures, and staff training gaps. The evolving nature of cyber threats demands continuous attention, and the inherent need for data sharing in healthcare can inadvertently pose security risks.

CYberSynchrony Use Case 1 aims to ensure robust patient data protection, improve threat and risk assessments, implement real-time monitoring, establish a comprehensive incident response plan, and train healthcare staff in cybersecurity best practices.

Objectives
